CBD & Hemp Oil Questions (11)

That’s a bit difficult to answer in only a few sentences because, as with so much of our culture, words have multiple meanings to different people.  This is due largely because there is no formalized nomenclature for the purposes of labeling, advertising, or legally sustainable nomenclature.

It has been kept “underground” since the 1930’s and as a result the vocabulary is almost entirely slang and colloquialisms.  That said, it is generally interpreted by those of us in the industry to separate Hemp oil from CBD oil.

The specific answers lie in for what the product’s purpose or application is intended.  Hemp oil is generally expected to be a full spectrum organic oil extract from commercial hemp (Cannabis ruderalis) where CBD oil more of a constructed substance that varies in characteristics and ingredients that facilitate it use or specific application.

For example, Hemp oil is used for pet products and CBD oil almost never is.

My feeling is that in order for CBD oil to be properly classified as such, the CBD needs to be isolated from other psychoactive cannabinoids.  I could go on for days, but the important thing to remember is that commercial hemp oil contains about .3% THC while CBD oil is isolated from the THC cannabinoid.

CBD itself can be 99.5% pure (the rest is basically water molecules) while containing no other cannabinoids whatsoever.  This is called CBD isolate and is used in the preparation of CBD edibles because it has virtually no taste.

Other forms of CBD oil contain very little actual CBD. Others are blended for vaporizing and inhaling, while others are nano-sized and encapsulated in water, gel caps and gummies for the kids.

Essentially, you can think of hemp oil as a basic, essential oil extract from hemp while CBD oil is further refined, often isolated, and also sourced from CBD-dominant strains of the Cannabis satiiva variety.

Absolutely, if you want to remain that way.  If you are asking this you are likely young. Those of us getting longer of tooth know all too well the benefits of CBD in our lives.  Don’t wait till you have symptoms before your pursue optimum health. And if you are a younger athlete, you are focused on optimizing endurance and recovery.  So, understanding what CBD can do for you should be of particular interest.

It’s important to remember a medical fact.  Everyone is different in one way or another especially when it comes to health and wellness objectives.

No one in the U.S. is free to make medical claims about Cannabis products and CBD including our physicians themselves.  However, we are still allowed to share our own experiences… for the time being anyway.

Juicing raw Cannabis is highly touted as the most effective way to get your recommended daily allowance of CBD.  As opposed to ingesting, drinking, or vaping CBD oil, eating raw Cannabis also provides your body with another cannabinoid called CBDA (CBD acid) which becomes CBD when heated or “decarboxylated”.

Unfortunately due to the Federal government’s “Reefer Madness” mentality, research into this form of CBDA is not allowed by our government… except their own research of course.  Look to Dr. Raphael Mechoulam’s extensive research on Cannabis at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem.

That would be inhaling vaporized CBD oil using a dab rig, electronic vaporizer, or Vape pen.  There is no quicker method of administering CBD than breathing it.

Aside from being arguably the most pleasant method of feeling the effects of CBD, using a vaporizer of any kind delivers CBD directly to your lung tissue which is filled with CBD receptors and immediately prompts the endocannabinoid system to begin its miraculous purpose.

A close 2nd place candidate for quickness of effect is nano CBD water followed by nano CBD gel caps.

The answer is a simple one, and it won’t take long for you to prove it for yourself. I recommend that any adult consume at least 25mg of high-quality nano CBD daily from either nano-water or gel cap form. The only exception to that is vaping which I typically do a couple times a day including before bed.

I highly recommend vaporizing high-quality CBD vape oil and inhaling it.  This immediately delivers the fastest results followed by nano CBD water and then Gel Caps.  Many like CBD Living Vape oils are naturally flavored using original plant terpene flavored with popular strains like Tangie, Sour Diesel, and Bubble Gum.

As opposed to the water or gel caps (gummies for kids), vaping will require re-dosing during the day, but then – that’s why is so popular.  It’s so convenient.  Patients can administer just enough to relieve their symptoms or improve their sleep, or reduce recovery time from athletic exertion and typical physical training and recovery time.

Topical emulsions like CBD Freeze roll-on is a far more effective topical pain reliever than anything you’ve ever tried.

Each method of extracting CBD from Cannabis has its pros and cons, and there are 3 species of Cannabis that produce CBD.  Generally speaking, it is common practice to source the substance from the most CBD-rich species Cannabis ruderalis (commonly known as hemp) because the concentration of CBD is vastly higher in hemp than other species.

This essential hemp oil is collected as a by-product of commercial hemp production for clothing, building materials and 25,000 other common products.

Commercial hemp production has largely used distillation to extract the hemp oil from which more pure CBD is subsequently refined.  Some CBD extraction methods are safer and more healthful such as supercritical CO2 extraction which involves expensive equipment but produces a cleaner, higher quality, and more effective CBD oil.

DIY methods or home-based methods often involve chemical solvents such as butane and hexane which leave residues that are not healthful and should be avoided.

Yes.  CBD is known to inhibit an enzyme called cytochrome P450.  It is the same effect that eating grapefruit can have on medications, and is involved in the metabolization of a number of drugs.

The inhibition of cytochrome P450 can have the effect of either increasing or decreasing the drug’s intended effect.  It is therefore advisable to ask your physician if any of your medications are in this category.

For more information, you can refer to CBD-Drug Interactions: The Role of Cytochrome P450.

No. CBD and hemp oil is a non-toxic, non-psychoactive, and non-addictive substance that is of no interest to drug testers.  It is THC that they may or may not be testing for because it is the most prevalent cannabinoid in marijuana and therefore easier to detect.

CBD leaves your system entirely in 6 to 8 hours whereas THC can stay in your system for over a month.

Yes, but not in the traditional sense where harm is caused.  I’ve taken as much as 800mg of CBD at one time and not experienced any adverse effects other than becoming very sleepy.  So I took a nap.

There are studies you can find easily on search engines where as much as 1500mg was studied on humans with essentially the same results I had.  CBD is considered to be a non-toxic substance by any bio/pharma definition.

As I state in numerous pages and posts, effective dosage for adults can range from a few hits off of your favorite CBD vape oil or CBD shatter which amounts to only a few milligrams per inhalation to a daily nano CBD gel cap that is 25mg.  It all depends on your disease, medical condition, or athletic fitness regimen.

The recommended child dose for CBD Living Gummies is one per 8 hours or as needed.  Each of these Gummies provide 8mg of nano CBD.

For sake of economics alone, observe the effects by keeping the dose low in the beginning.  Be consistent for a week in order to get a baseline from which to proceed.

There is no possibility of overdose.  Allow me to recommend and refer you to a publication by Project CBD: A Cannabis Dosing Guide for Patients and Health Professionals.

According to a study by biochemist Etienne de Meijer (Inheritance of the Cannabinoid Phenotype), growers can induce environmental conditions such as light, temperature, nutrients, water, and soil acidity.  Different combinations and permutations definitely increases (or lowers) the levels of various cannabinoids such as CBD and THC ultimately derived from the grow.

That said, it is also currently true that the overall potential of each strain’s cannabinoid content is limited by its genetics.

No, at least not in any amount exceeding .3% which may be legally included in some hemp-infused products.  CannabisAnimus.com covers the miracle of Cannabis in general, and we are involved in promoting knowledge and effective use of CBD as a medication and nutritional supplement.

We are not involved in recommending or selling products containing THC other than the aforementioned commercial hemp oil which is not sufficient THC in quantity to even register in a drug test much less have any psychoactive effect.  CBD and hemp oil is 100% safe for children and pets.
